NSF Checks

A bad check is a check that you cannot cash because the person who wrote the check: (1) doesn’t have enough money to cover it (“insufficient funds”), or (2) told the bank was told to “stop payment” on it without having a valid reason for doing so.

Judgment Enforcement Associates offers a delinquent check recovery program.  This program handles the collection of Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF), account closed and no signature checks.

The consumer who writes the NSF check will receive notification of all penalties, fees and laws governing the writing of the bad check.  Once these initial steps are taken, it then moves onto litigation and suit is filed against the person who wrote the check.  [Civil Code section 1719]

Once a judgment has been ordered by the Court, Judgment Enforcement Associates will move forward with enforcement of the judgment.  In some sitsuations, Judment Enformment Associates may take an 'Assignment' of the NSF check and proceed with all court procedings instead of you, the Payee.
